Ingrown Hair Removal

Ingrown Hair Removal
Ingrown hair removal is a method of treating small hairs that are curling back into the skin. These tiny hairs can be very irritating resulting in infections, bumps, splotches, painful itching and more.
Ingrown hairs may be caused by shaving, wearing tight clothing, blocked pores and for other reasons. Though they can appear anywhere, they commonly appear on the underarms, pubic area, legs and very commonly the chin.
To help prevent ingrown hairs; exfoliate the skin slightly prior to shaving or waxing, wear loose fitting clothes, use a clean, sharp blade when shaving, and open the skin with a warm compress such as a warm washcloth prior to your hair removal technique.
For ingrown hair removal, open the pores in the affected area with a warm washcloth. This will help bring the hair to the surface and make removal easier. Using a pointed sterile pair of tweezers remove the ingrown hair. If the hair is buried deeply in the skin, leave the warm washcloth on the skin longer to help bring it up.
We recommend using a splinter/ingrown hair pair of tweezers. These very inexpensive tweezers are made to last years and have a specially designed sharp point to help pull the hair out by the root. Both the splinter and ingrown hair function will be a valuable aid to your medicine cabinet; Tweezerman Ingrown Hair Splintertweeze
